Jane E. (Liberty) Mason

Jane E. Mason, 78, a longtime resident of Milford and Mont Vernon, NH, passed on July 24, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones at Gulfside Hospice Center in Newport Richey, FL after battling illness for the past few years. Born in Nashua, NH on April 28, 1939, she was the daughter of Edgar and Marie (Wells) Liberty, and was raised and educated in Milford. Early in life, she was employed as a nurse’s aide for the former family owned Liberty Nursing Home on Elm Street and later spent many years as a private in-home caregiver. Additionally, besides being a mother to five children, Jane will be remembered as a hard worker who juggled many jobs. These positions included being a long time waitress/hostess at the former Monarch Diner, and many years as an employee at OK Tool Company and the Milford Drive-In Theater. She was predeceased by her husband, James Roy Mason (2004) and her only son, Stephen Edward Atkinson, Jr (2006). Surviving children include Debra J. Tallarico of Litchfield, Ann M. Mason of Milford, Elsie J Golding of New Boston, and Susan Mason-Brown of FL as well as several grandchildren. Jane will be missed for her sense of humor, contagious laugh, and ability to joke and tease in a fun loving manner. But most of all, she will be greatly missed as a caring mother and friend who was always there to listen and offer guidance whenever she could. A private family burial will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mont Vernon, NH on Tuesday, September 12th, 2017 where she will be peacefully laid to rest.
