James W. Stickney, 57, lifelong resident of Amherst, NH, died December 17, 2011 at his home. He was born in Nashua, NH on June 23, 1954, a son of Charles W. Stickney of Amherst, NH and the late Edith (Bartlett) Stickney and graduated from Milford Area Senior High School, Class of 1972. Mr. Stickney owned and operated James W. Stickney Trucking, LLC in Amherst and had formerly worked at Hitchiner Manufacturing Company, Milford. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and had a great passion for motorcycles. Mr. Stickney was a member of Harley Sanford Post #4368, VFW Auxiliary, Milford. In addition to his father, family members include a son, Justin C. Stickney; a daughter, Lacey A. Stickney, both of Amherst, NH; a brother, Kenneth Stickney of Wilton, NH; a sister, Christine Johnson of Greenville, NH; several nieces, nephews, aunts and many cousins. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, December 28th from 2:00-6:00 pm at the Harley Sanford Post #4368 VFW, Perkins Street, Milford. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford, in the spring.
