George F. Harsch, 88, resident of Bedford, NH, died on February 18, 2016, at his home. He was born in Bronx, NY, on February 22, 1927, the son of Frank and Marie (Kunz) Harsch. Mr. Harsch made his home in Bedford, NH, for the past 15 years, having formerly lived in Yonkers, NY, for many years. He worked as an electrician for most of his life and had been employed by Coe Electric. In addition, he was a longtime member of Local 3 IBEW. Mr. Harsch enjoyed golfing and was an avid New York Yankees and New England Patriots fan. In his earlier years, he coached for the Dunwoodie Youth Association. As a member of the “Greatest Generation”, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Mr. Harsch was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Bedford, NH, and St. Anne’s Church in Yonkers, NY. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Family members include his wife of 66 years, Therese, of Bedford, NH; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ellen Langridge of Bedford, NH, and Barbara and Lester Catharine of Williamsburg, VA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, George R. Harsch of Tuscaloosa, AL, Richard and Susan Harsch of Poughquag, NY; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nephews and cousins. There are no visiting hours. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 24th at 1:00 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, 190 Meetinghouse Road, Bedford, NH. Burial with military honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Yonkers, NY, at a later date.
