Dorothy E. Lorden

Dorothy E. “Darby” Lorden, 90, resident of Epsom, NH died on October 26, 2016 at Epsom Healthcare Center, Epsom, NH. She was born in Milford, NH on January 24, 1926, a daughter of Dennis and Mildred (Schempe) Lorden. Dorothy was raised and educated in Milford and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1944. She lived in Washington D.C ., where she started her own secretarial business and later returned to NH and made her home in the Epsom, NH area for more than 50 years. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, reading and most especially loved her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Kathleen Halberg, Marion Lorden, Kenneth Lorden, Francis Lorden, and more recently by her brother, Frederick Lorden. Family members include many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. There are no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 10:00am in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Milford.
