Diane J. Rees

Doris Diane (Juneau) Rees, 87, passed away peacefully at home on December 27, 2022. Diane was born in 1935 in Hollywood, CA., a first-generation Californian. She was the daughter of the late Clarence B. Juneau, Sr. and Doris T. Juneau. She attended Fullerton Jr. College and was a teacher. Diane was married to the late Davis Spencer Rees.


Diane moved to Amherst, NH in 2018. She had lived many years in Franklin Lakes, NJ and was an active member and volunteer in many areas of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Oakland, NJ. She was a long-time member of The International Wolf Center in Ely, MN. She enjoyed riding her bicycle throughout Franklin Lakes well into her 80’s, playing tennis, cooking, reading, learning, NFL Football games, astronomy, animals and nature.


Diane was predeceased by her brother Clarence B. Juneau Jr., her stepfather Robert Niblock and granddaughter Margaret Gorman.


Diane is survived by her children Anne Gorman (Brian) of Manchester, CT, Ronald S. Rees (Susan) of Amherst, NH and LCDR Jeffrey T. Rees, Sr. USN Ret. (Susan), of Aurora, TX . Grandchildren Brian Gorman Jr. Hannah Rees, R. Spencer Rees Jr., Jeffrey T. Rees, Jr. and Dylan Rees. Great grandchildren Alayna and Anastasia Gorman.


Diane was dedicated, caring and thoughtful to her family and friends. She would always take the time to listen and help whether in person or by phone, sharing her insight into the subject matter at hand. Diane will be deeply missed by all who knew her.


As was Diane’s wish, there will be no service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
