It is with a heavy heart that we bring the news of the passing of our dear Desiree Marie White. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 at the U Mass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Desiree Marie (Reynolds) White was born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 25th 1935. She is the daughter of Desiree and George Reynolds of Randolph, MA. She attended Mount St Joseph’s Academy High School in Brighton, MA. She received her undergraduate degree from Regis College and her Masters in Social Work from University of Connecticut. She was a kind and dedicated social worker who touched the lives of so many. Desiree worked for the VA Hospital in Boston, placed children with adoptive families, started her own practice, Family Guidance Center in Milford, NH and was a Social Worker for Milford High School in NH. She met the love of her life, her husband, Ronald Paul White at a church dance in college. They were married 54 years and raised their three children in Amherst, NH. Desiree was not only a wonderful wife, devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and social worker, but an active volunteer in the community including 4H, Souhegan Nursing Association and Amherst Country Club Swim Club. She played competitive tennis, travelled the world with friends and family, and cherished her time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. She was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Reynolds; brothers-in-law, Stan Ward, Howard White and his wife, Helene; and a nephew, Russell Ward. Desiree is survived by her husband, Ronald P. White of Plymouth, MA; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Jeff Kiszla of Hopkinton, MA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald R. White of Hudson, MA, Darrin and Anne Marie White of Hollis, NH; five grandchildren, Jessica Hudson and her husband Bret, Justin deMontigny and his wife, Kelsey, and Elise, Matthew, and Carolyn Kiszla; three great grandchildren, Madison and Brody Hudson and Dorothy deMontigny; a sister, Marcia Ward; a sister -in-law, Joan Reynolds; and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours are on Friday, March 11th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 34 Amherst Street, Milford, NH. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Amherst, NH in the spring.
