David M. Bell, 72, resident of Milford, NH died on January 26, 2013 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Portland, Maine on November 24, 1940, a son of Matthew and Harriet (Wilcox) Bell. He was raised and educated in Milford and graduated from Milford High School, Class of 1959 and NH Technical Institute, Manchester, NH. Mr. Bell was employed as a carpenter and worked for Riley Brothers Lumber Company for more than 35 years. He enjoyed boating, fishing, watching NASCAR and most especially spending time with his family. Mr. Bell was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran having served in the Seabees and was a member of Ricciardi Hartshorn Unit #23 American Legion, Milford. Family members include his wife, Susan (Ferguson) Bell of Milford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah S. Bell-Polson and Christopher Polson of Milford, Sharon and Craig McCauley of Hooksett, NH; five grandchildren, David S. Polson, William Polson, Jonathan Polson, Jack McCauley and Kate McCauley; a brother, Peter Bell of Penacook, NH; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, January 29th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Share Outreach, Inc., 1 Columbus Drive, Milford, NH 03055 or to the charity of one’s choice.
