Clifford N. Floss, age 87, died peacefully at his home in Brookline, NH on Friday, December 20, 2013. "Cliff" was born in Cowlesville, NY, son of Clifford G. and Cecelia Floss, and widower of Doris (Francis) Floss, his beloved wife of 63 years. Cliff was a devoted husband and caregiver. He personally and unselfishly cared for Doris during the 5 years of Alzheimer’s that eventually took her life in 2010. After spending several years in the Merchant Marines seeing the world and experiencing many adventures, Cliff was a dispatcher for Texaco in the Buffalo, NY area for over 30 years. Cliff was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, gardening, and maple sugaring. He was also a huge baseball fan, having played a lot of amateur baseball in his youth. He loved both the Red Sox and the Yankees (yes, thats true!) and made it a point to watch every Red Sox game during their 2013 Championship run. While residing in New Hampshire, Cliff enjoyed Friday dinners at the Yankee Chef and Sunday breakfasts at Parkers. He would also spend hours watching the birds in his backyard feeders. Cliff is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Popp of Brookline, NH, grandson David and wife Deirdre of Manlius, NY and two great grandchildren...the lights of his life...Sarah and Daniel. He is also survived by several cousins in the Buffalo, NY area, Bob Floss and Fred Floss and wife Mary. Cliff was predeceased by two sisters, Norma and Patricia. There are no services. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 6 Chenell Drive, Suite 260, Concord, NH 03301.
