Bruce C. Ullrich, 84, resident of Amherst, NH, died on March 9, 2018 at The Elms Care & Rehabilitation Center, Milford, NH. He was born in Mineola, NY on May 16, 1933, a son of Arthur H. and Violet (Ebinger) Ullrich. Bruce was raised and educated in Rockville Centre, LI, NY and graduated from Colgate University. He has made his home in Amherst for more than 40 years. In his earlier years, he worked in the family bakery business, Ebinger Bakery Company, Brooklyn, NY. He remained working in sales and management in the bakery industry for many years and later retired from Corman Bag Company, Chelsea, MA in 2013. Bruce enjoyed skiing, gardening, mowing his lawn and working outdoors. He especially loved spending summers in Sheepscot, Maine with his family. He was a U.S. Naval officer and a veteran of the Korean War. Family members include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Schwefel) Ullrich of Amherst; three sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew Ullrich of Nashua, NH, Lawrence and Madeline Ullrich of Westmoreland, NH, Richard and Cynthia Ullrich of Brookline, NH; three daughters and sons-in-law, Caryn and Thomas Gwizdala of Wolfeboro, NH, Elizabeth and Dino Tsamparlis of Eliot, ME, Cynthia and Henry Furnbach of Freedom, NH; 15 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; a brother, Arthur D. Ullrich of Nashua, NH; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, March 13th from 1:00- 4:00 p.m. with a service at 3:00 pm in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH. Private burial will be in Meadowview Cemetery, Amherst, at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, Milford.
